The
Moroccan Cinematographic Centre announces the official selection of documentary
film projects that will participate in the Euro-Mediterranean Documentary
Market (MEDIMED), to be held from October 8 to 11, 2026, in Sitges, Spain.
A call for
projects was launched for Moroccan producers and directors with documentary
film projects, with the aim of identifying promising projects and providing
them with international exposure through their presentation at the MEDIMED 2026
Pitching Forum. This event provides a key platform for meetings and exchanges
among documentary professionals, bringing together broadcasters, co-producers,
financiers and other international industry stakeholders.
At the
close of the application period, 51 projects had been submitted. The
applications were reviewed in accordance with the participation requirements
and the criteria established under the call for projects.
The
evaluation and selection process was entrusted to a jury composed of recognized
industry professionals.
Following
this process, five (5) projects were selected, as follows:

● KARAMA by Fatim Layachi produced by Younes

● THE MOUNTAIN
OF PATIENCE by Sami
Saif Sir El Khatim produced by Kenza Alioua and Sami Saif Sir El Khatim (PIANKY

BLING by Robin
Bicknell produced Hind Saih (BELLOTA FILMS) - Morocco, France, Qatar.
The
selected project holders will have the opportunity to present their projects to
international documentary professionals as part of the MEDIMED 2026 Pitching
Forum, providing them with a valuable platform to develop international
co-production, financing and distribution opportunities.
Through
this initiative, the Moroccan Cinematographic Centre reaffirms its commitment
to supporting the development and promotion of Moroccan documentary filmmaking
by accompanying professionals and project holders and facilitating their access
to international production, co-production, financing and distribution
networks.
